Mohbad: Police detain Naira Marley

On Tuesday night, the controversial singer Azeez Fashola, aka Naira Marley, was detained by the Lagos State Police Command in relation to the contentious passing of Ilerioluwa Aloba, aka Mohbad, a former record label signee.

 Azeez Fashola, nicknamed Naira Marley, has been brought into custody for questioning and other investigation activities, according to Benjamin Hundeyin, the public relations officer for the Lagos State Police Command.

Naira Marley had earlier tweeted on Tuesday night that he was coming to Lagos to help with the investigation into Mohbad's death and that he would be meeting with the police.

"I'd want to let you know that I've just returned to Lagos, Nigeria," he stated, "to help the authorities with the continuing investigation. I must contribute in some way to help Imole.In the hopes that the truth will be revealed and justice will be done, I will be meeting with the police.

According to The PUNCH, MohBad passed away on September 12 at the age of 27.

Naira Marley and controversial music entrepreneur Balongun Eletu, nicknamed Sam Larry (now in police jail), had already been invited by the police to testify regarding Mohbad's passing.

Last Monday, the police acknowledged that the pathologists had finished the Mohbad autopsy while they were still awaiting the results.

The police spokesman revealed this in an exclusive chat with our correspondent: "Autopsy has been completed. awaiting the outcome. This development came after Mohbad was exhumed by a team of up of Nigeria Police Force and health officials.

The PUNCH adds that the nurse who allegedly gave the deceased musician an injection before his passing on Tuesday, September 12, was also detained by authorities.

Last Friday, an investigation into Mohbad's death by a coroner began in the Lagos State Magistrate's Court in Ikorodu.
