Miss Rwanda has been suspended due to allegations of rape.

Following the arrest of its organizer last month, the Rwandan government ed the Miss Rwanda beauty pageant.

It comes after allegations of sexual abuse against Dieudonné Ishimwe, the CEO of Rwanda Inspiration Backup, the contest's organizer.

Last month, Mr. Ishimwe was arrested on suspicion of sexually abusing participants. He has yet to respond to the charges.

"The Miss Rwanda beauty contest has been stopped pending the completion of investigations," Rwanda's culture ministry said in a statement on Monday.
