Minority Chief Whip Calls On Ministry Of Information To Embark On Sensations Program On Terrorism.

The Ministry on May 13, 2022 issued a statement warning the citizenry against possible terrorist attacks in Ghana while assuring the general public of its efforts to avert same.

The Member of Parliament in the Asewase Constituency of the Ashanti Region who is also the Minority Chief in Parliament, Hon. Muntaka Mubarak has proposed that the Ministry of Information must wake up from its slumber and take the challenge to educate the citizenry on the possible terrorist attacks warning given out by the National Security Ministry.

The Ministry for National Security has, in various releases cautioned the public and institutions to take precautionary measures against the activities of terrorists and the MP has added his voice to the call.

The Ministry on May 13, 2022, issued a statement warning the citizenry against possible terrorist attacks in Ghana while assuring the general public of its efforts to avert the same.

But in his opinion to this statement, Hon. Muntaka Mubarak has called on the Information Ministry together with the MMDAs to importantly embark on a nationwide sensitization program in the various jurisdictions to help the citizens to have a full understanding of the statement. 

Also, he cautioned the public, especially the religious bodies, various tribes, and schools to embrace religious, tribal, and educational tolerance to vehemently fight or block the terrorists since they could easily seize the opportunity of demonstrations, tribal, institutional intolerance, and recruit aggrieved people or do what they can in such situations to cause any possible mayhem to our country.

"But as Ghanaians, we must all be very vigilant to report all sorts of strange people or strangers to the security agencies to help fight terrorists", he added.
