The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources who doubles as a member of the Parliament of Damongo, Honourable Samuel Abu Jinapor has paid a working visit to the Western North Region.

Hon Abu Jinapor on his working visit to the region used the opportunity to commend the regional security council led by, Hon Richard Obeng for supervising the clearing up of the two major rivers Bia and Tano rivers in the region after been polluted by illegal miners( GALAMSEY).

He stated that the Western North region is one of the excellent meetings he had with the coordinating council since he had toured the country because he had good news by his naked eyes that the rivers are improving.

Hon Samuel  Abu Jinapor urged the Security Council to work hand in hand with the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources so that, they can push the vision and objections of the president of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo-Addo

The Sector Minister, Hon Abu Jinapor on his assessment visit to the Tano river made clear that the Tano river which was polluted by illegal miners as now turned to its normal state.

Hon Richard Obeng, the Western North Regional Minister said with the support been received from the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources has facilitated the clearing up of these two major rivers in the region.

According to him, the president, Nana Akuffo-Addo had been taken around to witness the current state of the river Bia and Tano.

He pledged that since they have enough logistics, they would be able to accomplish the greater feet that had already been done.
