The Member of Parliament (MP) for Tarkwa Nsuaem in the Western Region, Honourable George Mireku Duker, has feted with over 500 widows in the constituency as all the widows also went home with hampers and undisclosed sums of money.
Though it has become an annual activity for the legislator to celebrate Christmas with widows in his constituency this year’s one appeared different looking at the number of widows who thronged the venue for the celebration.
Electoral Coordinators in each of the electoral areas in the constituency were tasked to present ten widows and at the end of the compilation, over 500 widows made the list for the MP's Christmas celebration.
The widows who could not make it to the venue had their hampers and envelope sent to them.

Some widows present at the occasion speaking to the media expressed their appreciation to their Member of Parliament for his kind gesture towards their plight as widows and prayed for the MP for protection and long life to always comes to their aid.
