Meek Mill claims that President Akufo-Addo is the best politician of all time

 During a recent Complex debate with fellow rapper Rick Ross, the Dreams and Nightmares crooner declared his love and adoration for the first gentleman of the land as his favorite politician.

Meek Mill's affection for President Akufo-Addo is a result of his special meeting with him at the Jubilee House when he was the main attraction at the Afro Nation event in December 2022 while visiting Ghana. 

The rapper's attendance at the festival garnered media attention, but meeting Ghana's head of state was what really made an effect on him.

In his own words: "I'm a big fan of Ghanaian politicians since I got to meet them. Meek Mill declared during the debate that President Akufo-Addo was the "G.O.A.T politician," saying, "Being able to meet a black president myself and let me in the president's house, he made me have a lot of confidence in myself, and I want to be better, so I'll say that's my favorite politician right now."

Meek Mill still remembers his most recent trip to Ghana with nostalgia, but it wasn't without controversy.

The well-known American rapper faced harsh criticism for using Ghana's presidential palace to film a music video.

The rapper was criticized for the video, which showed him performing in the halls and corridors of the palace, for perhaps posing a security danger. Following the intense outcry, Mill was compelled to remove the video from Instagram.

He took to Twitter with an apology, writing: “To the people of Ghana no video I drop is ever meant to disrespect the people of Ghana …. The fastest way to make connection is thru music and I wanted to do that with displaying art … im in my 30’s from America and didn’t know much about the lifestyle here”.
