Riyad Mahrez and Said Benrahma have both reportedly heed to the instruction of their boss Djamel Belmadi to removed their blonde hair dye after it failed to impress him.

Belmadi takes a dim view towards such hairstyles, he always wants his stars to sport looks that 'reflect the traditions and customs of Algerian society'. Algerian outlet Dzair Daily reports.

The Premier League duo have both been sporting platinum blonde trims in the early weeks of the new season.

But upon reporting for international duty, Mahrez and Benrahma have reverted back to their natural hair colours.

The report further added that, Belmadi demands a more 'respectable' cut when players are working with him.

The 30-year-old Manchester City star, played a huge role in helping his country win the Africa Cup of Nations in 2019 and he is regarded as a hero in his homeland and so Belmadi wants a decent appearance in the field of play.

His contributions included a last-gasp 95th minute winner against Nigeria in the semi-finals.

This time around, Mahrez and Benrahma are aiming to ensure that their country qualifies for next year's World Cup in Qatar.
