Madina MP Endorses Mahama Ideal To Introduce Free Nationwide Apprenticeship Programme At District Level

Madina MP Endorses Mahama Ideal To Introduce Free Nationwide Apprenticeship Programme At District Level

NATIONAL Democratic Congress Member of Parliament (MP) for Madina Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, Honourable Francis-Xavier Kojo Sosu, has endorsed the deal of flagbearer of the party, H.E. former President John Dramani Mahama that the next NDC administration will create free nationwide apprenticeship programme at district level to alleviate unemployment and poverty among the youth.

According to the MP who doubles as the Parliamentary Candidate (PC) for the NDC in the area, he has welcomed welcomed the initiative by former President John Mahama.because the free nationwide apprenticeship programme is in line with one of his flagship programmes “Madina Job Centre”.

He stated that he has already started his MP's Madina jobs centre programme for the past three years for which more people, particularly the youth have benefited through effective skills training.

He disclosed he Madina Job Centre programme initiated by him has helped over 6000 youths in his constituency.

Lawyer Sosu believes this initiative is a good opportunity for the youth of Madina and all over the country to better themselves in other not to be a liability.

"So if we are going to have this free nationwide apprenticeship programme in the district level in which the new NDC government is going to invest into this programme at the district assembly centres  for which every young persons can go there to learn free skills training, l think that it is a loudable programme which is going help to reduce unemployment and crime rates in the country," the Madina MP stressed.

He described the intended programme as 
one of the biggest interventions by the new NDC government, saying that the people in Madina constituency have endorsed the programme.

According to him, the stakesholders in Madina believe that the effective implementation of the programme by the new NDC government under former President Dramani Mahama when elected into power would help the young people in Madina constituency to actual their skills training dreams.

In this regard, the Madina young outspoken legislator appealed to Ghanaian eligible voters to vote massively for former President Dramani Mahama to win the political power in the 2024 to ensure that he implements this laudable initiative.

Honourable Sosu was of the view that former President Dramani Mahama Ghanaians’ hope as the one with the magic wand to transform the country’s economy and make things better.

He stressed that the next NDC government led by Mr Dramani Mahama would restore hope and national pride.

According to the MP, every young persons can rise to the positions of prominent if they keep their focus.

Cited himself as an example, Honourable Sosu stressed that having grown up as a child from the street-to-street to become one of the recognized professional lawyers and now a law maker is a testament of what God can do in very child life.

"l have believe that almighty God can easily do these same to other young persons if they themselves are focus on whatever things they are doing as a human being," the MP noted.

Honourable Honourable Sosu made these forgoing remarks when he was given his welcome address at the 10th IYES anniversary celebration at UPSA in Accra.

Meanwhile, when addressing Ghanaian youth at the 10th IYES anniversary celebration at UPSA, former President Dramani Mahama noted that the new NDC administration wouldr rollout a National Apprenticeship Training Programme to offer free skills training to Junior High School graduates who could not make it to the Senior High School level.

Under the skills training module, the government, through the District Assembly, would pay any amount for the training period to the person who trains the apprentices.
The Government would also provide them with start-up kits to start their businesses and become self-employed and self-sufficient in life.
He asserted the next NDC administration is poised to reduce the unemployment rate by initiating free nationwide apprenticeship programmes.

He stressed that there’s the need to enhance Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).

The NDC flagbearer stated that NDC government will register all the master craft people in every district in the country and also have a data of youths who have interests in the apprenticeship programmes and allocate them to their respective districts.
