The Bono Regional Director for the Water Resources Commission, Mr. Solomon Danso has called on residents of the region and the country at large to place value on water resources in the country to help protect the remaining water bodies.

His advice is in connection with the country’s efforts to protect the nation’s water resources whiles the world celebrated World Water Day yesterday.

Speaking on Ark in The Morning monitored by Soiree News Bono Regional Correspondent Nana Ama Asiedu, Mr. Danso stated that, one of the most important ways to protect water bodies is to value water sources in the country.

He explained that there are several human activities that end up destroying water sources such as cutting off wastewater from reaching sources by containing them without allowing it to flow.

He urged the general public to desist from setting up buildings that block the free flow of water as it all impacts negatively on water bodies and possibly causes natural disasters.

He added that, though the country is not doing badly in protecting water resources; there is a need to revisit the old way of protecting water bodies.
