Clean up exercise

A massive clean-up exercise to rid the Obuasi East District of filth was held on Saturday 14 August 2021 to control malaria in the area.

As a result of the exercise organised by the Obuasi East District Assembly at Pomposo all shops, stores and markets were closed from business activities.

This was the maiden edition of the operation "Keep Obuasi East clean campaign" which would be witness every two weeks of the month.

Present were the District Chief Executive, HonourableFaustina Amissah who was the host of the exercise, a member of Parliament for the constituency Honourable Dr Patrick Boakye Yiadom as well as other departmental heads at the communities who heightened the enthusiasm of the residents especially at the Pomposo Lorry terminal.

Hon. Faustina Amissah stressed the need for Ghanaians to ensure a clean environment by avoiding indiscriminate dumping of refuse.

The member of Parliament for the Obuasi East, Hon. Dr Patrick Boakye Yiadom in an engagement with Yaw Opoku Soireenews stressed the need for continuous organisation of such exercises to keep the environment clean and help sustain the enthusiasm of residents.
