Members of a group called Concerned Citizens of Weija-Gbawe Municipality of the Greater Accra Region have incurred the wrath of the scores of the assembly members, chiefs, market folks, children of school-going age, traditional officeholders and faith-based organisational leaders in the twenty-four (24) electoral areas within the municipality.

The condemnation on the members of the group led by Nii Kwartei Quartey by the constituents followed the recent attacked the group has meted to the Member of Parliament (MP) for Weija-Gbewe Constituency, Mrs Naa Tina Gifty Ayerley Mensah and the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Patrick Kumor.

The group in their press conference addressed by their spokesperson, Nii Kwartei Quartey expressed their disappointment in the MP for Weija -Gbawe for what they described as the neglect of NPP executives as she has failed to offer help to them and the youth of the party who are in dire need of help.

“Tina Mensah and Mr Patrick Kumor should tell us who amongst the party executives as well as the grassroots whom they have helped,” they stated.

The group noted that during the last primaries, Mrs Mensah ensured that Quinoo and Blue Boy were disqualified because of her quest to go unopposed and this brought in its wake some fragmentation within the rank and file of the party.

But in random investigations by Soireenews, the constituents have described the actions of the group as a wrong move just to tarnish the images the two and warned them to leave the MCE and MP alone saying that the MP and MCE are transformational leaders who had worked to bring the needed development to the area.

They stated that the MP and MCE are submissive, approachable self-reliance, good, transformational and delusional leaders they have ever had.

"We are aware that the MP has been instrumental in resourcing the NPP structures including Constituency executives, branch executives, ward executives, electoral coordinators and footsoldiers at the grassroots levels in the country. 

"Even in the just ended December 7, 2020, the MP met these aforementioned personalities at the premises of the Weija-Gbewe Municipal Assembly and thanked them for supporting her in retaining her seat, so where from the accusation of the neglect of the NPP members and structures the group are talking about. We all are benefiting from the good leadership of the NPP MP," the constituents told Soiree news.com.

According to them, looking at the current track records of the projects and programmes done under the two personalities in the various electoral areas within the municipality, the group should be the last personalities to criticize the two prominent personalities.
