Landslide Disaster Hits Ayesu In Upper Manya Krobo District As MP Rushes To Rescue Of The Victims 
A HEAVY downpour which lasted for over eight hours has resulted in a landslide hitting the people of Ayesu , a farming community in the Upper Manya Krobo District in the Eastern Region.
About three homes were affected while most of the homes spared by the mudslide are inundated with water.
Some of the houses have been buried in the mud. Fortunately, no life has been lost.
Water can still be seen gushing out from the surrounding hills.
According to one affected family, the catastrophe happened during the day as the clouds opened their bellies with torrential downpour.
They had to run for dear life as boulders and water raced down and buried their home.
"Everything has been lost and we  now live with friends." Said Madam Gladys, a victim.
This came to light when the Honourable Member of PARLIAMENT for the Upper Manya Krobo constituency, Honourable Bismark Tetteh Nyarko paid a visit to the affected victims.
Asked whether any NADMO official from the District has been there to assess the situation for any possible assistance, the response was in the negative.
The MP,  said he had come to assess the situation and know how he can help.
An elder in the community, Mr Tetteh Bololor said he was grateful to the MP for coming to assess the situation.
"We'll be grateful if you can liase with NGO s and other benevolent associations to come to our aid". The old man said.
Honourable Bismark Tetteh Nyarko assured them of his readiness to bring some relief items to them.
