There was a heavy bloody clash yesterday, during the installation of the new chief for Gomoa Nyanyano, a community in the Central Region.

The substantive chief of the area, Dr. Nana Wiabo V died in August 2020 and as custom demands, there was the need to install a new chief.

However, during the ceremony to install Nana Doudo Wiabo VI as a new chief to succeed the late Nana Doudo Wiabo VI, unfortunately, another faction emerged with a different chief.

A misunderstanding ensued between the supporters of these factions where several gunshots were fired.

In the cause of the chieftaincy dispute a man, aged 54 years, named Kwasi Amoasi, was shot and was rushed to the Kasoa hospital.

He died after a short treatment.

The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Kasoa hospital morgue while the Kasoa Police District Command is on the investigation.
