THE PRESIDING Member of Kwahu Afram Plains North District Assembly in Eastern Region, Mr John Gombbey, has asked assembly members to plan towards achieving developmental projects in their respective electoral areas to accelerate communities.
He noted that the performance of duties by members was essential for the progress, growth and development of communities to improve livelihoods.
Mr Gombbey observed that achieving developmental goals should be the yard
stick to assess the progress, growth and development of communities which could also translate into job creation and wealth for the youth.
Mr Gombbey was speaking at the second
Quarter General Assembly Meeting on Budget Approval and Presentation of 2023 Annual Action Plan on Fee- Fixing Resolution of The Kwahu Afram Plains North District Assembly.
Giving his sessional speech, Mr Gombbey,
stressed the need for the members to work together in harmony to put first the interest of the district's developmental projects and deliberation on issues from various sectors for discussions, recommendations and adoption.
On his part, the District Chief Executive (DCE), of Kwahu Afram Plains North District, *Hon. Nana Ofori Koree,* addressed the house on the state of issues in the District and highlighted various developmental projects both ongoing and completed projects by the Assembly.
Other, pressing issues of the Assembly were discussed through healthy dialogues by Honorable Assembly members to deliberate on issues of the various sectors such as, *Security, Road Network, Revenue, Education, Agriculture and Health.
In terms of security, he stated that the District is relatively peaceful with the intervention of Anti - Robbery Team in the District and therefore, asked all the citizens to be security conscious in their various neighborhoods, homes, work spaces etc.
Regarding, Revenue he expressed that, the Assembly has been progressively increasing its revenue and thanked all the staff and the Assembly Members for their contribution in revenue collection.
Targeting on Education, he stressed since education is essential aspect of human development, the Assembly through the Education sector has distributed about 500 dual desk in all the Basic Schools within aKwahu Afram Plains North District to enhance teaching and learning.
