The Member of Parliament, Honorable Francisca Oteng Mensah entreated the people not to forget the good works of the President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo as election looms.

The Kwabre East Municipal have commissioned a Community Information Center (CiCs) at Adanwomase on Friday, November 27, 2020.

The project, sponsored by Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC) is purposely to bridge the digital divide between urban and rural dwellers in the country and also to make trade more efficient, effective and promptly respond to customers' needs in the Municipal.

The Municipal Chief Executive, Honorable Osei Assibey Bonsu explained that the facility is designed to serve as training centres where the acquisition of ICT skills and knowledge are provided for underprivileged people and also to bring government services online closer to the people at the grassroots.

According to him, the new evolution requires people to adapt to the modern trends of operation in order to compete in the e-market worldwide. He enlightened that Adanwomase was chosen to accommodate the facility due to inhabitants’ colossal efforts in the area of crafts, which is a boost to the Tourism Ministry in the Region and Ghana as a whole, therefore, backing the people with advanced knowledge will encourage them to yield more for Ghana’s benefit.

“There is a massive change in the world and without ICT, it will be impossible to be a part of it,” he said.

"This ICT centre has been made for all Kwabre East residents to learn and anyone who wishes to is welcome. We want to promote e-marketing to be able to compete with the international market on the artefacts we produce here, talk of Kente and many others.

“Soon there will be a DHL office to enhance the trade. We want the world to know that the centre has been built to train people and improve what we have to offer here.

“Adanwomase has been immense in the area of craft hence the location of the infrastructure.

The Member of Parliament, Honorable Francisca Oteng Mensah commended the hard work of the people of Adanwomase which has earned them the CiC and entreated them not to forget the good works of the President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo as election looms.

She campaigned that the New Patriotic Party government has a lot of inventive programs to shapen Ghana and transform the lives of inhabitants.

“Kwabre has 46 towns and if Adanwomase indeed was seen as the best place fit for the project, it shows how assiduous you are,” she applauded.

“I entreat everyone to get involved in learning ICT to empower their trade. One thing I’ll ask is to try as much as possible to grant Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo and myself four more years to continue our reign,” she added.

The Chief of the town, Nana Ntiamoah Panin Ababio acknowledged the NPP government for the mechanisms put in place to bridge the rural and urban dwellers in terms of knowledge. He promised that the good works of the NPP “will not be forgotten by the people of Adanwomase.”
