Polls disrupted by heavy rains in parts of the country

The voting exercise has been disrupted in some parts of the country, especially in the Volta Region, due to heavy rains.

Some of the areas reportedly  affected by the rains are the Hohoe constituency, Afadjato South and Akatsi South.

As a result, some of the constituency polling stations have been relocated to classrooms nearby, the reports gathered indicate.

The EC is yet to officially comment on the disruption.

Meanwhile, the Electoral Commission (EC) says security operatives have identified and arrested some of its election officials who were tampering the Presidential ballot papers.

The commission in a statement said the incidents were reported in Awutu Senya West and Bawku Central constituencies.

As a result, the EC has sent a word of caution that all presidential candidates should appear on a thumb-printed ballot paper before it will be considered as valid and counted.
