Liverpool players

Joel Matip and Jordan Henderson have trained for Liverpool ahead of their Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspurs away from home.

The pair missed the Reds two defeats to Burnley at Anfield and Manchester United at Old Trafford due to minor injury concerns but Klopp during his pre-match conference confirmed their participation in training on Tuesday although they will be assessed before the London trip.

“No new cases [injuries] and Hendo and Joel trained yesterday with the team fully.

“Like always with these things we have to see how they react overnight and what they can do today, but they trained yesterday.”

Liverpool must win the game against Jose Mourinho’s side on Thursday else he could find himself seventh on the Premier League when Everton beat Leicester on Wednesday.

The Reds have failed to win their last five Premier League matches having lost twice and drawn thrice. Klopp expressed that his boys are ready to prove what they are capable of and they enjoy the negative words hailed at them.

"We want to be the team that nobody wants to play against and we have the chance to be that team tomorrow night," said Klopp, at his pre-match press conference on Wednesday.

"That is what we always want to be. All of a sudden people told us we were the best team in the world, which we never were, but that is not a problem.

"We could be the best team in the world, we still can be the best team in the world, but we have to prove that on the pitch - and we will. We are on fire, if you like, to strike back.

"The more negative things that are thought about us and said about us, maybe the more we want it."
