The aggrieved group of the supporters, members and sympathisers of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have prayed the Supreme Court to dismiss the suit filed by one Kenneth Kwabena Agyei Kuranchie, who wants the court to disqualify former President John Dramani Mahama from contesting as a flagbearer of the NDC or the presidency in the future.
According to Mr Kuranchie, the constitution through Article 66 (1) of the 1992 Constitution indicates that a person seeking a second presidential term must be a sitting president but former President Mahama is seeking to re-contest after being out of office for about 8 years.

However, the supporters of the NDC who the executive members of the party in some constituencies in the country in an interview with Soireenews.com today noted that it is important for the Supreme Court of Ghana to throw out the case because the plaintiff's suit is incompetent and have no legal basis and therefore, ought to be dismissed immediately.

The described Mr.Kuranchie as trouble maker, confutionist, idiot and a reckless nation wrecker who has nothing much to lose doesn't care throwing the nation into chaos.
They alleged that Mr.Kuranchie who is a known political activist of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and he is also known as an ardent critic of former President Dramani Mahama was paid by his paymasters to destroy and attack the integrity of the flagbearer of the NDC, but he has completely failed by the grace of God.

"I must also say, strongly that a reckless wrecker who has nothing much to lose doesn't care throwing the nation into chaos," the NDC activist (name withheld) in the news item stated.
According to him, "What we must do to show the right signal of the people's anger is not abbot just writing and speaking.
He argued that "Nothing puts fear in these people.I will suggest that right after Assin North, the party should mobile Ghanaians of diverse backgrounds to partake a series of nationwide demonstrations to whip support for President Mahama.
According to him, the  demonstration should be dubbed,No Mahama Vo Vote
This, he stressed will not only give a signal to the court but will also energize and incite Ghanaians against the NPP.
"National Organizer and Deputies
National Women Organizer and Deputies
National Youth Organizer and Deputies
National Zongo Caucus Coordinator
When we write, you call for suggestions.
We have offered our suggestions," he concluded.
Meanwhile, a member of the legal team of the National Democratic Congress, Mr. Abraham Amaliba, has said that former President John Dramani Mahama has not received any lawsuit challenging his candidacy for the 2024 elections.
Court documents leaked on social media indicated that the former president, who was recently elected by the NDC to be its candidate for the 2024 presidential elections, had been sued over his eligibility to contest in the next presidential election.
Reacting to this in an interview on Metro TV, on Wednesday, June 13, 2023, lawyer Amaliba said that the suit is ‘much ado about nothing’.
According to him, the suit is just to divert the attention of Ghanaians from the current economic hardship in the country and his being championed by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government.
“The former president has not been served and once serving is personal, they would have to take steps to serve him. What I can tell you is that absolutely nothing can stop the former president from contesting in the 2024 elections.
