Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), former President John Dramani Mahama, has performed a sod-cutting ceremony to commence the construction of a community centre for the people of Agona Ninta.

The multipurpose edifice, which is being financed by the Member of Parliament (MP) for Agona East Constituency, Madam Queenstar Pokuah Sawyer as one of his her monumental projects will serve as a venue for social events for the community.
The brief ceremony on Saturday, July 1, 2023, was attended by the chief of the Chief of Agona Nsaba, Nana Okeseku Afari Mintah III, opinion leaders, and some community members.

Addressing the gathering at the programme which was held on Saturday July 1, 2023, Mr Dramani Mahama lauded Mrs Pokuah Sawyer for being one of the female MP on the ticket of the NDC who is very instrumental of bringing the needed social and infrastructure developmental projects to the door steps of her constituents.
He maintained that the pieces of evidence available from the various electoral areas within the Agona East constituency clearly show that Mrs Pokuah Sawyer is serving her constituents very well.

He stressed that the level of enthusiasm from the constituents also showed that majority of the people staying in the constituency are really enjoying the good works Mrs Pokuah Sawyer is doing to transform the lives of the constituents.
The flagbearer of the NDC recalled that at the time he was the President, Mrs Pokuah Sawyer was appointed as his Deputy Minister for Central Region and that she has performed excellent to discharge her duties to serve the interest of the people in the region.
According to him, all of concerned Ghanaians were very impressed when they listened to the various works Mrs Pokuah Sawyer is doing in Agona East.

"Currently we are going for by-election in the Assin North, and as we are busily campaign in the constituency, l met Mrs. Pokuah Sawyer for which her informed me that she has  planned to unveil some developmental projects in her constituency and pleaded with me to come to support her to carry out the projects. 

"So this morning we are here because of such invitation from Mrs Pokuah Sawyer to carry out these three projects which Enapa y3 Scheme, sod-cutting for the construction of the community centre at Ninta and the inspection of Astro-Turf Football Pitch at Agona Nantefa," former President Dramani Mahama noted.
He thanked the Chief of Agona Nsaba, Nana
Okeseku Afari Mintah III for supporting Mrs. Pokuah Sawyer to bring the needed development in the area.

Elated by the ceremony, Nana Okeseku Afari Mintah III revealed that he and his people appealed to Mrs Pokuah Sawyer for the project during the 2020 electioneering.
“We asked for this project and we believed in her that she would deliver. We are happy that our daughter has come here today to fulfill her promise,” Nana Okeseku Afari Mintah III said.

On her part, Mrs Pokuah Sawyer noted that she was committed to seeing to the welfare of the people in her constituency, saying she would do everything in her capacity to deliver on other promises.
She also entreated the community members to organise themselves and build the community centre as she provides the finance.
