A group of people in the Ejisu Municipality of Ashanti Region identified as Concerned Ejisu Residents have called for the removal of Beatrice Serwaa Derkyi as the Chief Executive for the Ejisu Municipal Assembly.

They have threatened to embark on a massive protest to show strong disapproval should President Akufo-Addo attempt to reaffirm Beatrice Serwaa Derkyi as their MCE.

Speaking to Soireenews in an exclusive interview, the concerned residents vociferously lamented that she has shown gross incompetence since her appointment and therefore does not qualify for the position again.

Mr Samuel Danquah popularly called Honorable SS, leader of the group also a former Assembly Member for Ejisu Besease- Jamasi said the MCE does not have their backing following her disrespectful status towards Ejisu Residents.

"We don't want to see Beatrice Serwaa Derkyi again as Ejisu MCE, she does not respect anyone in the municipality, not even assembly members or chiefs. We will not sit as watchdogs for Akufo-Addo to reappoint her. We will do everything possible to reject her. Serwaa Derkyi is unfit for the post", Hon SS stated.

The raged Ejisu Residents consistently, have warned a section of the Ejisu members to desist from rallying behind Serwaa Derkyi or have themselves to blame.

Serwaa Derkyi has come under numerous criticisms over gross incompetence, old age and display of disrespect.

In 2018, Assembly members of Ejisu Municipality nearly passed a vote of no confidence due to her misconducts as already mentioned. But it took the intervention of some prominent chiefs and some NPP executives to save her position.
