John Boadu was accused by the victim of defiling her on two occasions and warned her not to inform anyone, else she will die.

John Boadu has been sentenced to 12 years imprisonment in hard labour for defiling a 12-year-old girl in Asukyerema, near Adeiso by the Asamankese Circuit Court.

The 49-year-old trader, popularly known as Brother Kwame, pleaded guilty to the charges in the court presided over by His Honour, Abubakari Abass Adams, when he was charged for defilement, contrary to section 101 of the criminal offence Act 29/60.

Prosecution Officer, Sergeant Samuel Owusu told the court that on 3rd July 2021, the victim was sent to buy sachet water from the accused shop and the accused added more sachets of water to the number she purchases.

The prosecutor said, the accused invited the victim inside his shop and later grabbed her into his nearby room and had carnal knowledge of her on two occasions and warned her not to inform anyone, else she will die.

On July 9, 2021, the accused started bleeding and she went to Adeiso Health center and the nurse on duty realized that the victim has been defiled.

Upon interrogation, the victim mentioned John Boadu as the one who defiled her twice in his shop and bedroom.

A report was made to the Police and the accused was arrested and arraigned before Asamankese court for prosecution.
