I've never been an alcoholic or smoked - Bukom Banku

The 46-year-old comedian cited his adherence to Muslim traditions as a major reason for abstaining from alcohol and smoking.

"In my life, I have never smoked before or drank alcohol because I am Muslim," he said. Bukom Banku discussed his past behaviour in an interview with Showbiz 360.

He acknowledged that he had been known to confront and fight people who had disrespected him in his Bukom community, but he added that he had since changed his ways.

"In this country, no one can perform juju for me. Who says they've supported my career with juju? Never in my lifetime. God is it. Your children will suffer the consequences and it will have an impact on their future if you practise juju and you pass away. Anyone who says they gave me juju ought to come clean about it. "I really am a superstar," he proclaimed.

Bukom Banku also counselled his son, telling him to concentrate on his job and stay away from women's diversions.

He also counselled young people to focus on accomplishment and stay away from relationship distractions. Success, in his opinion, will inevitably draw attention from women.
