Ghanaian movie producer, Kofi Asamoah has stated that he would never insult any man of God because of his respect for God and His servants.

The entertainment stakeholder declared this after news went rife that he had called Archbishop Duncan Williams "a stupid man" for brandishing a sword during one of his church services. He vehemently dismissed the rumors and said that the bloggers in Ghana twisted his words just to create a trending topic.

He highlighted his words carefully to show exactly what he meant while pointing out that his statement was deliberately mistaken for abuse on the image of the General Overseer of the Action Chapel International.

Even so, he still apologized to the man of God, to show deference while speaking as a panelist on Peace FM’s entertainment review program. In his defense, his words were taken out of context, and if the Archbishop was to read to his full statement he'd see that it was never meant to be an abuse.

The filmmaker emphasized that nothing would make him attack the image of any man of God and his post was even meant for the people who attack men of God if read without the lens of Ghanaian bloggers.

“I will never call the Archbishop Nicholas Duncan Williams stupid or anything he does stupid. I will not call any man of God with such name. Maybe the word or my statement may have come across is what has made people make such assumptions”.

“I have worshipped at Action Chapel before and I know Papa. I have worked for him before so there is no way I will disrespect him. I never said that he is stupid or his actions are stupid. The intent of my post is that if a Twi pastor did what Duncan Williams did, he would have been insulted. I was trying to make a point that we are all Christians and shouldn’t allow anything to divide us”, he said on Peace FM.
