It’s a shame NPP activists remain jobless, neglected for 6 years in power – Prince Kamal Gumah

A National Youth Organizer aspirant for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Prince Kamal Gumah has bemoaned the fact that activists for the NPP are still unemployed six years after the party took over power.
He says it’s a shame that these activists after working so hard to bring the NPP back to power remain unemployed and neglected by the party although there are several employment opportunities that have been rolled out by the government.
To him, there is the need for something to be done about the situation because it thwarts the party’s chances at clinching onto power in the 2024 elections.

“This is a party which government led by Nana Addo has rolled out over 100,000 jobs and I will tell you that you will go around the country and there are youth organizers, an executive of the party that is unemployed. He is qualified. He is sitting there with a degree. There are a lot of jobs. We’ve rolled out over 100,000 jobs and the Youth Organizer of NPP doesn’t have a job?
I was in Savannah, a youth organizer in Savannah who went for this population census job with his wife and applied but didn’t get it. That is unacceptable. He is qualified but didn’t get the job, his wife applied too and also didn’t get. Do you think he can convince anybody to join the party? He cannot because he is unemployed. You are a youth organizer and you are unemployed and you are calling me to come and join your party, why will I join?” he quizzed.
Prince Kamal Gumah is of the belief that for the party to succeed and make history as it intends to, there is the need for the party to prioritize the youth especially those whose work ensured that they party was brought back to power in 2024.

“I think the youth of the party should be empowered. All the appointees of this government should make sure the NPP youth are empowered before 2024. We can only break the 8, if the youth are empowered. Remember this, the youth are the people that jump behind the pickup to go and put tents, do security and usher dignitaries. The youth do all the dirty work for this party and if they can give us 70 percent of their votes, I think they deserve better not what they are getting now” he said.
The aspiring National Youth Organizer said he is coming to make the party attractive to the youth by offering particularly party’s loyalists job opportunities and initiating progammes which will empower them economically, adding that he will establish job opportunities centers across the 275 constituencies should he be given the nod.
“I’m talking about jobs for the youth and empowerment because it is not all the youth who want white-color jobs. There are people that are businessmen and with my experience in business, I can bring a lot of business opportunities to many of the grassroot members that want to venture into business, entrepreneurship and things like that”.
He added, “when I become the National Youth Organizer, I will have jobs centers established around 275 constituencies and this is what the job centers are going to work; if you are a party member, go to that office, put in your CV, when I get the opportunity to lobby for jobs, they come to the constituency level”.
