It was fortunate for Ghana that Black Sherif, rather than Piesie Esther won the AOY - Sonnie Badu

Sonnie Badu, a gospel superstar from Ghana, claimed that Black Sherif's victory over Piesie Esther as Artiste of the Year at the 2023 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) was more advantageous for Ghana.

He felt that Black Sherif's honor was merited in light of the year's worth of major contributions to the music business.

While praising Piesie Esther, a fellow gospel artist, Sonnie Badu underlined that Black Sherif was more deserved of the prize due to his influence and reputation in the music industry.

I think that was an interesting rift, he said. Piesie performed admirably, yet it was good Nobody should argue with Black Sherif's victory. But it was advantageous for the sector. Ghana wants Black Sherif to receive the prize he recently won from the US.

He asked all participants in the entertainment business to work together in the best interests of the country.

"Everyone projects that guy if I'm a member of the entertainment fraternity. Nigerians perform that, and that is crucial right now.

He currently possesses all of the necessary tools to lead Ghana to that position. And forget about the Stonebwoys, Shatta Wales, and everyone else; they did nothing.

As a building brick, it is not as significant as the middle block. We all constructed a blacksmith out of it.

"We must take our time. If I were a minister of entertainment, I would keep an eye out for this man and ask, "What can we do to project him in this season and perhaps another season?"

It's critical, in Sonnie Badu's opinion, to concentrate on honoring deserving people in the entertainment sector, whether they are gospel or secular performers. He underlined the value of cooperation among industry participants and urged them to help one another for the benefit of the country.
