In raids in Burkina Faso, suspected jihadists kill 27 people

Authorities in Burkina Faso report that suspected jihadists attacked villages in the north of the nation over the weekend and killed at least 27 people.

They reported that a single incident late on Sunday in Kossi province claimed the lives of 15 people, some of them were youngsters.

Some eyewitnesses said that the death toll reached 20.

On Saturday, 12 people were slain in Yatenga province in the other incident.

One of the world's poorest nations, Burkina Faso, has been struggling to deal with a terrorist insurgency that rushed in from Mali's neighbor in 2015.
