In leaving Kaywa's label, Lasmid claims he did nothing wrong

Friday Night hitmaker, Lasmid, claims he did nothing wrong in parting ways with Kaywa's Highly Spiritual Label earlier this year, despite being called an ingrate for doing so.

In leaving Kaywa's label, Lasmid claims he did nothing wrong

Lasmid recently expressed his amazement at comments that Kaywa is sad and disappointed when he left the label since he is still on extremely good terms with him on Kingdom FM's "Afro Joint show" in Accra, which was observed by Graphic Showbiz.

"I had no idea that leaving Kaywa's Highly Spiritual would make him unhappy. I was unaware of that. I think people hurt or feel disappointed when you do something wrong, but in my case, it's different.

"However, if individuals feel that I have done something wrong, I will address the matter as soon as possible. Papa and I still get along, and we still chat, so I know that. I even attended his mother's recent burial," he said.

Following the departure of some of his signees, including Mr. Drew and Lasmid earlier this year, Kaywa has recently been in the spotlight.

Kaywa said in an interview with Graphic Showbiz last month that he left his former signees in God's hands for deserting him after investing a lot of money in them and making them big names, albeit he didn't disguise his disappointment at the way things turned out.

"I am aware of how terrible it may be to support emerging artists only to see them depart just as they are reaching their pinnacle, but life is like that. Everyone knows the part I played in the lives of all the artists who left my record company, so if I were to take into account everything, I would not sign on any artists again, but I do like to persuade myself that I am creating national assets.

If they become as successful as the Sarkodies, Shatta Wales, and Stonebwoys, I will take the credit for that. The tiny difference I made in their lives brings me enough joy. Even though Dr. Duncan may not be extremely affluent, everyone is aware of what he accomplished for Sarkodie, the man claimed.
