The Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Mr. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has volunteerd to take COVID-19 vaccine jab publicly during his turn.

“As MP for North Tongu, I am absolutely ready for the COVID-19 vaccine when it gets to my turn. I look forward to publicly receiving the jab.”

“I urge all my constituents and other compatriots to do same.”

He also urged Ghanaians to believe in the nation’s scientists to do more for the country.

“Let us all do our best to boldly confront vaccine hesitancy. It is time to develop more confidence in our scientists and ignore the conspiracy theorists.”

Meanwhile, Ghana is expected to take delivery of its first batch of COVID-19 vaccines later this week, the Minister for Information-designate, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has dislcosed.

Mr. Oppong Nkrumah has also noted earlier that he will be volunteering to publicly take the COVID-19 vaccines alongside other government officials.

The move, he said is to boost the public's confidence in the mass vaccination exercise.

"Some members of the executive will as part of the demystifying process and the public education publicly take their COVID-19 shots,”

“I have volunteered that I will [take the vaccine publicly] and I am aware that other people will do the same,” he said on February 19, at the Public Engagement on COVID-19 Vaccination Roll Out Plan.

Mr. Oppong Nkrumah stressed that it was important to highlight the safety of the vaccination process.
