IGP Reassigns 30 Top Police Chiefs

The new IGP Dr, George Akuffo Dampare has moved Maame Tiwaa Addo Danquah to head the Police Intelligence and Professional Standards Bureau (PIPS).

The acting Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Dr, George Akuffo Dampare, has undertaken his first major shake-up in the police service after reshuffling about 30 top police officers of the Ghana Police Service (GPS), Soireenews can report.

Soireenews has gathered that the Director-General of Welfare, Maame Tiwaa Addo Danquah, has been reassigned to head the Police Intelligence and Professional Standards Bureau (PIPS).

However, the Head of Education, Research and Training at the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD), Superintendent Alexander Obeng, has been moved to the Public Relations Department as the Director.

The Public Relations Officer of the Criminal Investigations Department, DSP Juliana Obeng, has been moved to the Accra Regional Police command as Public Relations Officer.

The Director-General in charge of Police Operations, COP Christian Tetteh Yohuno has been moved to Director-General in charge of Administration.

Other changes include COP Vincent Redeemer of the Police Professional Standard Bureau (PPSB), who will now be the Director-General in charge of Special Duties.

COP Edward Tabiri, the Director-General of the Police Intelligence Department will now head the Planning and ICT Directorate, while COP Frederick Adu Anim, the Director-General of the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD), will now head the Human Resources department.
