The Kumasi Central Prison has a population of 1,947 male and female inmates feeds on 12 bags of rice a day, a proportion of GH₵1.80p per inmate. Food supplied are sometimes limited and according to the ADP, the provisions offered by the Church of Pentecost, New Tafo Area would sustain inmates for some time.

She acknowledged and appreciated the efforts of the New Tafo Area led by the Area Head, Apostle Samuel Antwi and requested for more in the upcoming days.

“We are grateful to the Church of Pentecost, New Tafo Area for the gifts. We pray that God replenish whatever you have lost in hundred folds,” she added.

Apostle Samuel Antwi spoke on the need to seek the welfare of people as part of the church’s mandate to preach the Gospel to point souls to Christ. He uttered that taking care of the captives is part of the Church’s evangelism therefore such obligations cannot be left undone.

“It is our vision as a Church to spread the Gospel to the Nations yet it cannot be done when the welfare of the people is also not measured.

“Jesus taught us to make prisoners and other affected people our obligation as believers and so to fulfil the quest, there was the need for us to pay a visit on behalf of our Chairman to the prisons and present you with these items,” Apostle Samuel Antwi addressed.

The Wife of the Area Head, Mrs. Mary Antwi and the Area Women’s Leader, Mrs. Deborah Ntim defined the gift as the concern of the Church towards the society in an era of where Christmas is just hanging around the corner. Mrs. Antwi spoke that the theme of the Church in the Chairman’s Vision 2023 statement is helping the needy and assisting them for the reason that loving your neighbor as yourself is key in the implementation of the Gospel in the lives of the people.

The contingent of the New Tafo Area were led into both the male and female prisons to preach and impact the Gospel of Christ to inmates.
