Former Regional Chairman of the NDC, Bernard Allotey Jacobs has reacted to his expulsion from the party.

Mr Jacobs said he had already resigned from NDC before the Party expelled him yesterday.

According to him, he voluntarily left the Party weeks ago but had not served them with any notice.

His comment is in reaction to a statement signed by the General Secretary of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah which cited indiscipline and anti-party behavior as the basis on which the party had decided to expel him [Allotey Jacobs]

“At our meeting on Wednesday 17 March, the Functional Executive Committee of the NDC considered the report and recommendations of the Disciplinary Committee on the case of misconduct and anti-party behaviour brought against you Mr Allotey Jacobs pursuant to article 48(i) (b) and 8 (b) of the NDC Constitution,” – portions of the NDC’s statement read

But reacting to this Mr Allotey Jacobs said, “About two weeks ago, I said I have resigned from the party. I’m no longer a member of the NDC,” he remarked on JoyNews’ Newsnite.

He also said he won’t join any political party but will support President Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia for their good works.

“I will not join any political party, but I will support Akufo-Addo and Bawumia for their leadership qualities”.

He also described  the NDC’s sack letter as “funny”, adding that the party should have written to inform him of their acceptance of his resignation from the party and not a letter expelling from the party.
