'I Have Never Been Arrested' – Singer, Davido Denies Rumour
Davido has revealed that he has never been arrested for any crime throughout his career

Afrobeats sensation David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has refuted rumors circulating that he was arrested during his tour in East Africa on April 1, 2024.
Certain media outlets reported on Monday that the singer had been detained, but Davido swiftly responded with a statement via his official handle on Tuesday, April 2, 2024.
He clarified that the reports were untrue, emphasizing that his tour in Uganda and Kenya was successful, and he has since returned to Nigeria.
Asserting his clean record, Davido stated that he has never been arrested for any wrongdoing throughout his career. He expressed his intent to pursue legal action against those responsible for spreading the false information.
In a portion of his statement, Davido condemned the fabrication of such serious allegations, especially in light of April Fools' Day, and confirmed that his legal team is taking steps to address the misinformation generated by certain media outlets.
"I find the fabrication of allegations of such international crimes extremely irresponsible regardless of the light of ‘April Fools’, and my lawyer is seeking legal recourse against the media parties responsible for generating this misinformation,” the statement read partly.
