I Have Grown Past Awards- Kuami Eugene
Rockstar Kuami Eugene has made it clear that he is no longer concerned with winning accolades for his work as a musician.

He said this at "The Portfolio," where Kuami Eugene was being questioned by MC Portfolio.
According to the musician, none of his successful songs happened by accident; rather, they were all expertly written, performed, and marketed to receive the positive reviews they did.
He continued by saying that, after eight years in the industry, he has advanced past accolades and that, as a musician, winning accolades is not his ultimate goal.
"I mean, we have grown past awards, but not as much as people think because it's really significant and gives you recognition," he remarked.
According to Kuami Eugene, winning an award is not a sign of a successful musician or a hit song.
Rockstar gave the example of how Ckay of Nigeria had his "Love Nwantintin" all over yet couldn't win an award for it.
Kuami Eugene claims that although Ckay isn't receiving any recognition for his widely popular song "Love Nwantintin," he is still earning significantly more money than those who have.
Alright, let me give you an example with my brother Ckay. Ckay from the African nation. Thus, Love Nwantintin, the remix, was widely popular and performing quite well. I also noticed him not receiving any honors or recognition. Alright, so in Nigeria, he never received an award, but his song was consistently the top tune. You realize that he is making more money off of this song than from prize winners," he continued.
Kuami continued by saying he could name other singers, including himself, who receive a lot of streams and revenue from their music but never win any accolades.
"There are a lot of people out there doing really well; we still stream their music, and I'm one of them. They don't win awards, but every year is beneficial for them," he remarked.
When questioned about the things that used to shake him as an artist but no longer do, Rockstar replied, "Those are the awards I am talking about." Awars is included in. Being at ease should come before feeling under pressure to accomplish something you don't want to do.
