NATIONAL DEMOCRATIC Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for Nkwakwa Kwahu Constituency of the Eastern Region, Mr Frederick Somuah Obeng has presented a cash of GH¢ 4,500.00 to help settle the medical bills of victims of the road traffic accident of school bus which has crashed with DCE’s car on Accra-Kumasi Highway that claimed the lives of three students and a teacher.

He singlehandedly footed the costs of rented of ambulance and CT scan to be done on the forehead of one of the student victims who was referred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi.

Speaking in an interview with Soieenews.com, Mr Obenh noted that he together with his campaign team rushed to the two hospitals to commiserate with the accident victims on their admission beds because this heart-breaking clash occupied at Nkawkaw enclave on the Accra-Kumsi Highway on Thursday, February 15, 2024.
He pointed out that "so l have to rush to the hospitals this morning for where the affected victims were admitted to ascertain myself of what really had happened and to assist the affected victims in many diverse ways."
He narrated that the accident victims on admission at the Holy Family Hospital were ten who are made of nine students and one driver.
At the Agyakwa Hospital In Nkawkaw, he mentioned that they were three students and one teacher, saying that the hospital has some cases earlier for which the victims were referred to the hospital in Accra for further medical treatment.
He confirmed that the school bus was reported to have clashed with the DCE's car but such DCE was not coming from "our jurisdiction in the constituency but rather coming from Western Region."
According to him, although he together with his campaign team members went to the hospitals to assist the victims, they didn't know the actual cause of the clash since the driver was not in good condition to speak to him and his team.
"So we are waiting for the police to give us the details report on what had actually caused this fatal incident. I am assuring the general public that my team and l are watching the situation closely and that we will be going back to the two hospitals to do further follow-up on the matter and that any victim in need we would help and make sure the conditions of the  victims are stable or fine," the young outspoken politician assured.
"I have already made a donation of GH¢ 4,500.00 from my personal pocket in support of their medical bills for these accident victims on their admission. I have also footed for ambulance cost of the CT scan to be done on the forehead one of the boys to who was referred to Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi. 
"The CT scan is a special scan to be done to ascertain brain injuries. I have also left money to be paid the medical bills for the boy who has been referred to the Kumasi," Mr Obeng further revealed.
He advised the motorists to be vigilant by way of driving carefully on the road to avoid road traffic clashes or vehicular accidents.
"Since the 2024 is an election year and Kwahu Easter celebration, l would like to charge the drivers, particularly the ones who plied Accra-Kumsi Highway not to drink and drive during the Kwahu Easter celebration to minimise accidents," he cautioned.
Mr Obeng explained that some of the road accidents are preventable, stressing that the drivers should be endeavored to adhere to the road signs and regulations to help reduce causalities before, during and after the Easter festivities.
"I am to advise that we all keep safe and l know that when the time comes for the eligible voters in Nkwakwa constituency to make the decision by voting December 7, 2024, the right decision would be made and the constituency would handle to the right man to lead that is myself and and His Excellency John Dramani Mahama," he urged.

He advised supporters of the party, to avoid back biting and gossiping, but unite and support him to sell his good government policies and programmes to the electorate to vote him and the NDC to win the election in the 2024.
He said those negative practices would not augur well for the party and must therefore be stopped in the interest of party unity and cohesion.
