Hushpuppi has been denied bail and ruled that he remains in detention till his next trial date later in the year.

Suspected Nigerian fraudster, Ramon Abbas aka Hushpuppi has been denied bail in the United States despite efforts by his lawyer, Gal Pissetzky to make him leave jail.

Gal Pissetzky had insisted that Hushpuppi’s job as an Instagram celebrity was what generated the money which he used to pay for the $10,000 monthly rent on his luxury Dubai flat.

Hushpuppi’s lawyers had applied for him to leave jail with an electronic tag and live with the uncle of a woman with whom he has a child with, but US prosecutors opposed the bail application.

Reports show that prosecutors said he could commit crimes with just a smartphone and an internet connection, and that he posed too much of a flight risk.
