The former President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama has visited communities that were affected by torrential rains on Thursday in the Upper East Region.

He also paid courtesy calls on the chiefs and elders in Chiana-Paga, Navrongo, Builsa South and Builsa North areas of the region.

 

 

The heavy downpour affected 30,000 people including children who unfortunately have been rendered homeless with 28 confirmed dead from the devastation and destruction of homes.

The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) during the visit interacted and consoled families who lost their relatives and sympathized with others displaced by the floods.

Relief items were presented to support the communities.
