MP for Awutu Senya West begins inspection of infrastructures for improvement

Honourable Gizzella Agbotui Tetteh has promised that roads will be attended to in her first term of office in the Awutu Senya Wesy Constituency.

The Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya West in the Central Region, Honourable Gizzella Agbotui Tetteh has assured residents that the construction of bypasses and improvement of roads in the Awutu Senya West constituency is her sole priority during her first term of office and will make sure such is achieved.

The MP on Thursday, February 4, 2021, toured the Awutu Senya West constituency with Engineers to inspect roads which have been a challenge for constituents. According to her, the decision is to make the quality of life better for inhabitants in the constituency who have managed to endure for sometimes and believes it is time to sort out the infrastructural challenges in the Constituency.

"Infrastructure is the basic foundation of economic development. Poor infrastructures slow down commerce and affect the state of life of citizens," she revealed in an interview on Power FM News.

"Infrastructural work is my field of specialization and looking at the number of hours people waste in traffic and burning fuels, the disadvantages are huge and must be resolved. There is a need for bypasses to be created and for commuters to get better access to their destinations.

"The roads are meant to open up and it is part of my vision to make sure the challenge is resolved in my term of office," she added.

Honourable Gizzella Agbotui Tetteh in the course of inspection promised that all roads in the Awutu Senya West will be improved to help the constituency contribute to the country's economic development and growth and bring important social benefits.

"The process starts with an inspection, to identify the road. We'll then package it for contract award.

"The paperwork will take us a bit of time but we are sure after the assessment, we can lobby for an improvement of the roads. The community cannot wait for another four years after going through tough times. We have to make life better for them."

The Constituency Chairman for the Awutu Senya West, Mr Daniel Ackon addressed that the vision of the member of parliament is to expand and network the various towns in the constituency through good roads, a decision he believes will improve the way of life of inhabitants.

"One aspect of the MPs campaign is to expand the constituency and to do that, good roads play a key role," he said.

"The roads can network our various towns to each other in the Awutu Senya Constituency. She has brought all stakeholders on board and we have been advised on how this can work. We have toured the constituency finding ways to make building this infrastructure work so well.

"The MP is fulfilling the promises she made to the constituencies and the enthusiasm of the people really shows that."
