Ikay Gundogan has criticized the new Champions League format saying authorities did not think about the players before installing the structure.

The new Champions League format adds up to the former more games from 125 to 225 and will stress players considering their domestic games including cup matches.

The City player is not content with the new challenge and why the media have remained silent on the matter.

“With all the Super League stuff going on… can we please also speak about the new Champions League format? More and more and more games, is no one thinking about us players? The new UCL format is just the lesser of the two evils in comparison to the Super League…

“The UCL format right now works great and that is why it’s the most popular club competition in the world – for us players and for the fans.”

UEFA following the controversial European Super League revealed the new “Swiss Model” champions League format which will see 36 teams compete in a league format instead of the former eight groups set up among 32 teams.
