Guinea ex-leader detained ahead of trial - lawyers

In advance of his trial for his suspected involvement in a stadium massacre that occurred 13 years ago, Moussa Dadis Camara, the former president of Guinea, has been jailed, according to his attorneys.

He will remain in custody until the conclusion of the trial, which begins on Wednesday.

156 people were killed and many were injured during the opposition rally, according to an international inquiry. Over a hundred women were violated.

According to witnesses, security personnel barricaded the stadium and either shot or stabbed victims to death.

The claims are refuted by Mr. Camara.
