Group calls on Nana Addo not to appoint defeated MP candidates as MMDCE’s

A pro-New Patriotic (Party NPP), ‘‘Advocates for Good Governance and Democracy’’ has called on the President, Nana Addo not to appoint party candidates who were defeated during the parliamentary election as MMDCE’s.

According to them, those members are not the choice of the public and that is the reason why they could not win the parliamentary election.

The group is of the views that appointing such people to the MMDCE position will not be of good interest to the party and the Districts at large.

Speaking to Soiree News News, Executive Director of the Group David Opoku Boahen said, a survey they conducted about three Months ago reviewed that the Members of parliaments who lost their seats were not the people’s choice hence appointing them as MDCE’s will be a big blow for the NPP government.

He told that the defeated MPs failed to decentralized development to their communities which led to the huge gaps between them and Candidate Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo during the 2020 general elections.

He further reminded they are raising these concerns over what they have realized from the grounds that these defeated MP candidates are lobbing for the MDCE positions and they want President Akufo Addo to be vigilant in appointing MMDCEs to ensure development of the remote areas in the country.
