Gospel Artistes Are Hypocrites - KiDi

KiDi has bitterly labelled most gospel artists in Ghana as hypocrites following his loss at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards over the weekend.

The "Touch It" crooner who is known for singing erotic bangers has been labelled a demon because of his provocative lyrics and videos.

In a video meant to congratulate the winner of the Artiste of the Year Award, Diana Hamilton (who also happens to be a gospel artiste) KiDi noted that most gospel artists are hypocrites in real life.

Many of Diana Hamilton's fans noted that he did not win against the gospel artiste because he was trying to go against God.

He expressed his shock that people still think this way in 2021.

According to him, just because he does not sing direct songs of worship to God does not mean that he is a child of the devil.

“I’ve congratulated Auntie Diana and all of that but I just want to say that people should put it at the back of their minds that the fact that I don’t do gospel music does not make me a demon or a devil because a lot of the posts I’ve seen from the Christians especially say how dare you go against God…”

“Ibi work a dey work I no kill person. We are making people happy through music. I keep saying this every time that most of [the] gospel musicians [are] hypocrites because yes you are Christian doesn’t make you more righteous than me."

"At funerals, after you play Adom and praise God you play say cheese and dance. But today you want to put me on the chopping board and paint me as a demon or devil is not right, it’s not cool and it’s not fair because we are doing this to make people happy whether gospel or secular.” He noted. 

Mike Two, an entertainment pundit noted that KiDi did not win because of VGMA's beef with 3Music awards.

He explained that KiDi had won the overall artiste at 3Music and VGMA ignored all the work he had done just to spite 3Music and crown its own artiste.

‘‘VGMA wanted to crown its own artiste as overall artiste of the year not someone like KiDi who just won overall artiste of the 3Music awards, a tight competitor to the scheme, even though KiDi deserves it more than Diana….buh hey they also want theirs ooo,” he explained.
