Ghana has abolished the requirement that people wear face masks in public.
President Nana Akufo-Addo announced on Sunday, citing a steady decline in Covid infections in Ghana and neighboring nations as justification.
From Monday, the president also removed the necessity for fully vaccinated travelers coming to Ghana through the Kotoka International Airport in Accra to have negative PCR testing.
He did, however, advise Ghanaians to continue to adopt improved hand hygiene and avoid overcrowding.

So far, 160,925 confirmed Covid cases have been reported in the West African country.
Despite the World Health Organization's warning last week that the limitations were being withdrawn too soon, Ghana has joined dozens of African countries that have eased most Covid containment regulations.
