Following the wild demonstration that was staged by the Oseneso D-A Basic School in the Wassa East District of Western Region last Monday about furniture vacuum in the school, the Wassa East Education Directorate has met with the chief of Oseneso and his elders at Oseneso chief's Palace to render an unqualify apology to the chief, Nana Yaw Gyesi II and the entire Oseneso community.
Tthe deputy director of education, Mr. Ernest Afeku who stood in for the district director of education expressed that the action by the students was unfortunate of which the Ghana Education Service does not in any way endorse it.
"So he presented apology on behalf of the Wassa East district director of education Mrs. Ernestina Winful to the chief and the entire Oseneso community," he added.
He attributed the unfortunate conduct of the students to ineffectiveness of the School Management Committee (SMC) which failed to organize regular meetings to strategies and address the needs of the school.
This was revealed after the special committee that was tasked by the GES to investigate the matter met the SMC chairman, PTA Chairman, chief's rep, the headteacher, assembly man, the students reps, and the teachers in the school yesterday afternoon.
Speaking in an interview with Soireenews.com Mr. Ernest Afeku condemned the students' action and advised them not to ever use demonstration as a means to demand something from their parents.
