Ghanaian actor cum broadcast journalist, Dada Boa, has stated that the morning show programmes in the country are following a terrible format which is "anti-journalism".

According to him, presenters of socio-political morning shows in various media outlets only reproduce stories that have already been written in newspapers instead of using the space to make engaging and relevant content that is exclusive to the morning shows.

He maintained that the over-reliance on print media - always speaking on the stories published in the papers - is something that the morning shows in Ghana must abolish if they plan to make an impact on the Ghanaian landscape.

Dada boat made his assertions while speaking to Agyemang Prempeh on the latest episode of the Legends programme saying, "You have to be creative. First of all, morning shows in Ghana is reverse journalism," he said. "You are on air something has happened, you can report it at that moment if your journalists are assertive and proactive you can broadcast it live."

The ace broadcast journalist lamented that he cannot understand why the electric media feeds on the print media for its various programmes.

"Graphic [the print media] when can they report. The radio is waiting for a graphic to publish stories before they use it for newspapers review. What broadcasting are we doing?"

"Most of the morning shows that's what happens. They even dissect newspaper issues."

The former Accra-based Happy FM morning show host admitted that he would love to show the other hosts how to be creative in that area if he gets the opportunity again.

"If I get the opportunity I will do that again. The morning show isn't what we see in Ghana," he said adding, "When I started hosting morning show on Happy FM, my target was to get (late) Santo on board to host the morning show.

"Morning in the time one brings information. Something interesting and exciting to put smiles on people's faces to usher them into a wonderful day," he concluded.
