 Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Honourable Kweku Ampramtu Sarpong, has revealed that his attention has been drawn to an interview he granted Akoma Fm on Thursday morning which seeks to claim he stated that “the Ministry of Foreign Affairs does not know the Project to transform Ghana card to a traveling document or an e-passport”.

According to Honourable Sarpong, he did not mention that.

He further commented on the fact that whoever is behind that story is being mischievous or cannot translate the two languages into good English. 

“In fact, in the course of the interview I did mention that we are aware of the Project”, he added.

“This is a project which was initiated and being managed by the office of the Vice President and not the Ministry of Foreign Affairs”, he explained.

“It is therefore difficult for me to be the person to give better and further particulars”, he stressed.

“At best it is the Vice President’s office where the project managers are based”, he said.

“At no point did I deny knowledge of it”, he mentioned 

“I plead with those of you who have elected to go to town with an inverted story to kindly locate and listen to the interview”, he urged
