General Secretaryship Race:  I am The Best  Candidate To  Win 2024 Polls  For NPP -Charles Bissue Declares To Delegates

The General Secretary hopeful for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Charles Onuawonto Tissue, has stated that his vast experience in the party politics had attested to the fact that making him the new NPP General Secretary will make the party win the 2024 general elections.

According to Mr. Bissue, who doubles as the former Western Regional Secretary of the NPP, he has strategies to help the NPP retain the power in the 2024 showdown, and should become the next General Secretary of the NPP.
Addressing supporters and members of the NPP at the Eastern Regional Executives unification and thanksgiving Service held at Akyem Oda yesterday, Mr. Bissue pointed out that the NPP is currently at crossroads and needs a concerted effort of members and a formidable team to provide solid answers to the challenges.

He said at its current state, the NPP needs a new crop of leadership at its national level to steer the affairs of the party to woo Ghanaians to vote massively for the party to retain power.
In this regard, Mr. Bissue has, therefore, promised to pursue an agenda that will enable the party to win the 2024 elections.
Addressing supporters and members of the NPP at the Eastern Regional Executives unification and thanksgiving Service, Mr. Bissue congratulated Mr. Jeff Konadu Addo for winning the Eastern Regional Chair and called on the supporters and members of the party in the region to support him to continue to build the structures and foundations of the party.
The program which was held at the Methodist Conference Hall at Akim Oda on Sunday was to thank the Almighty God for a successful regional election and also promote unity among the rank and file of the party at all levels within the region.
Mr. Bissue stated that he was happy that the delegates have elected Mr. Addo who he describes as a hard-working personality in the NPP, adding that having been the then Western Regional Secretary of the party, he has worked closely together with Mr. Addo when he is the Eastern Regional Secretary of the NPP.
He stressed that the election of Mr. Addo as the new Eastern Regional Chairman of the party would help to bring peace, and unity and build strong foundations for the party in the region.
Mr. Bissue pointed out that the NPP is currently at crossroads and needs the concerted effort of members and a formidable team to provide solid answers to the challenges.
Against this backdrop, the NPP to shot called on the supporters, members, and delegates of the party to rally behind him to win the general position as according to him, he has what it takes to move the party forward.
He stressed that the NPP has got to the level where it needs the new crops of the leadership at its national level to steer affairs of the party to help propagate the campaign strategies of the party to woo the eligible Ghanaian voters to vote massively for the party to retain power.
In this regard, Mr. Bissue has promised that if given the mandate he would pursue a vision that will enable the party to win the 2024 elections and beyond.
He said he will serve as the next NPP General Secretary and lead the party as the new chief executive of the party to win the ensuing general election.
He noted that he worked as the Western Regional secretary for eight years but he decided not to contest that position in the region and that he decided to elevate himself to the national level of the NPP.
He noted that when "we have reached now as a political party in Ghana, we touted that the NPP is an efficient political party but we needs to manage the structures of the party effectively to help win the general elections in 2024.
He stated that his statement doesn't mean that all the ranks and files of the party have not worked hard for the progress of the party, saying that everybody within the party is doing their best to build the structures of the party.
He stated that he is vying to contest for the general secretary position of the NPP to bring his vast experience on board to the national level to help fix the big gaps which have been created in the party at the national level.
"To due to my vast experience in the partisan politics l saw some gaps in the party in the Western Region for which l worked hard as the Western Regional Secretary to fill the gaps which have made the NPP retain the 100 percent increment of the seats in the region,' he disclosed.
That his previous achievements, according to Mr. Bissue, have informed his decision to contest the general Secretary position since he realizes that there are also big gaps at the national level of the NPP.

"I think that my vast political experience is also needed to help fix these gaps at the national level, the reason that has informed my current decision to contest the General Secretary position of the NPP," he reiterated.
In this regard, he called on the supporters, members, and delegates of the party to rally behind him to win the General Secretary position to move the party to another highest level which would attract Ghanaian voters.
He noted that in the political history of this country if the NPP goes into the opposition, it creates many fears in Ghanaians because its rival political party which is the National Democratic Congress (NDC) would come to destroy the economic progress of the country.

He pointed out that the government of the NPP has done a lot to improve the economic growth and living conditions of Ghanaians but he was quick to state that the spread of the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic had affected some of the good things the party has done, making some Ghanaians to lose hope in the new leadership of the NPP.

He noted that if elected the news general Secretary he would ensure that he talks to Ghanaians in ay to make sure they have confidence in the NPP to vote for the party to win the 2024 general elections.
He explained that the party has great potential of retaining political power in 2024 should delegates make the right decision about its leadership. 
Mr. Bissue indicated that elections are more of a science and require proven strategies and management.

"...that I have demonstrated in the Western Region in 2016. As a Regional Secretary and with the support of my executives across the region and constituencies, we overturned the margins of the party in 2016," he added. 
He further stated that, with his experience as a two-term Regional Secretary, he is in a better position to lead the party into victory come 2024. 
According to him, the most functional units of the party are the regional and constituency executives, adding that the General Secretary role is no different from what he is experienced.

He lamented that footsoldiers or those who sacrificed their lives for the party to come to political power are now suffering and that he would ensure that that suffering would be a thing of the party if elected General Secretary of the party.

He stressed the need for NPP to strengthen its welfare system to ensure that those who sacrificed their lives for the party also benefit from the party to improve their living conditions.
'I would ensure the welfare of the footsoldiers of the party if given the nod to be elected the General Secretary of the party," he assured.

He underscored the need to have a sustainable mechanism that insures party officers against risks and other misfortunes, adding that many have lost their lives and or suffered certain losses while serving the party. 
He stressed that his philosophy is to build an inclusive and sustainable collaboration between party and government, such that every party member feels involved in the management of the party. 

To this end, Mr. Bissue urged the delegates and members of the party to rally behind him and chart a new path of prosperity for the party.
