'Ga East MCE Maltreatment Of Traders In Dome Market False!'
According to them, the allegations leveled against the MCE by self-styled Queen-mother of Dome Market, Madam Felicia Karley Okoe Amui that he ordered the police to hacuff her hands which has caused to the left hand were cooked and lie stories to destroy the hard won reputation of the MCE.

Thousands of traders in Dome market in the Ga East Municipality of the Greater Accra Region have called on the general public to disregard the current media reports to the effect that the Ga East Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Madam Elizabeth Kaakie Mann has maltreated some traders in Dome market.
According to them, the allegations leveled against the MCE by self-styled Queen-mother of Dome Market, Madam Felicia Karley Okoe Amui that he ordered the police to hacuff her hands which has caused to the left hand were cooked and lie stories to destroy the hard won reputation of the MCE.
They pointed out that their checks on Madam Amui indicated that she has not got hacuff wounds on her hand, saying that Madam Amu has planned to peddling these falsehoods to sabotage the MCE since she has failed not recognized her as the substantive Queen-mother of the market.
According to the traders who are member of Dome Market Traders Association, their
MCE is a law abiding citizen who is working assiduously together with the leadership of the Dome Market to bring peace and needed development to the market
The members of the Association declared their support for Madam Elizabeth Kaakie Mann as the only known representative of the government.
The traders further affirmed that Honourable Elizabeth Kaakie Mann is the best person for the job, adding that they recognized no other MCE apart from Madam Elizabeth Kaakie Mann, therefore, have resolved to work with her.
The Market Association's outburst follows a press conference organized last week by a group referring to itself as the rightful association.
But at a press briefing addressed earlier, the association debunked claims made by the group.
Addressing the gathering of Chiefs and Elders of the area, Market Queen Mothers, Traders, and the President of the Greater Accra Market Association, the Public Relation Officer, Diana Dowuona-Owoo stated that Madam Elizabeth is not only a unifier but affable and down to earth.
"She is affable, down to earth, and a team leader. She has proven beyond every reason that she is capable of uniting all fronts within the market towards the growth of the traders", a statement read indicated.
According to the group, under the leadership of Madam Elizabeth Kaakie Mann, the collection of unapproved monies have seized, " for once, traders are comfortably going about their usual trading activities".
The association stressed that under the leadership of Madam Elizabeth Kaakie Mann, they have identified one thing, which is, "she is making sure that market women have the freedom to trade at the market and not to be exploited, abused and intimated as it was in the past under the former MCE Tulasi-Mensah".
"We, therefore, want to state that the current MCE is one of the best we have ever had", the statement noted.
The thrust of the matter, the group said was when some self-seeking individuals whose interest was to destroy the market to their advantage failed to achieve their intended purpose.
The group, according to the Dome New Market Association, launched an unwarranted diabolic attack on the only Market Queen mother, Madam Evelyn Abena-Sebie, and her leadership, all of which they said have failed.
"We want to put on record that, these disturbances and attacks are being sponsored by no other person but the former MCE of Ga West Municipal Assembly, Madam Janet Tulasi Mensah", the Dome New Market Association stated.
According to them, Madam Janet Tulasi Mensah caused serious troubles in Dome Market adding that, " we can say for a fact that all the controversies surrounding the tension in the market are her hard work".
They accused MCE of using her political position to intimidate and cause confusion within the rank and file of Dome New Market Women's Association leadership while hatching plans to get Felicia Karley Amui install as Queen mother at the time when there was a sitting and legally installed Queen mother in the person of Madam Evelyn Abena-Serbie, thereby eroding the peace enjoyed by traders in the Dome New Market beer the years.
"She has assembled known members of the New patriotic party (NPP) to form a committee to oversee the administration of activities of the market with the sole aim of taking over the leadership and administration of the activities of the market and handing it over to self-styled Queen-mother of Dome Market Felicia Karley Amui", they alleged.
They said upon taking over as MCE, Madam Janet Tulasi Mensah who claimed she could not work with the Queen Mother and her leadership, therefore, decided to establish an Oversight Committee(OC).
But a court decision has proved that the violation of a court's order by the Assembly was beyond doubt when the OC established by the MCE was taken to court.
The court, they noted, ruled that the inauguration of the Oversight Committee at the Dome Market is an attempt by the Tulasi-led Assembly to interfere with the work of the market Association and therefore found liable for contempt of court since she had actively aided the contemptuous act of the Assembly.
However, when reached by this reporter to get her side of the allegations leveled against her, Mrs Mensah stated that she was not ready not to respond to their allegations.
She said someone has sent her all the details about the leadership against her but she has forwarded the statement to her lawyer for advise.
