Traders in Akyem Oda in the Birim Central Municipality of Eastern Pegion have called on the government of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to honour its promise made to them when the Oda Central market got burnt on September 31 2021.
They lamented that on October 7, 2021 President  Akufo-Addo visited them after the market fire disaster and made a promise to them that government in no time will build a new ultramodern world standard market for them but they haven't seen anything yet.
They revealed that they are really going through difficulties whenever its rains or heavy sun shine since the market is currently located in the open street meant for car passage hence they are humbly pleading on government to fullfil its promise to them.
They further debunked allegations leveled on them that they have indiscriminately increased food commodities in the market after the market got burnt.
They explained that the increments in food commodities are due to fuel and lorry fare increments.
"So these increments in foodstuffs in our market are not because they lost huge in the market disaster and would want to get their money back as speculated by customers," they noted.
