Bruno Fernandes is holding on to his new contract extension at Manchester United until assuring transfer plans is executed.

The Portuguese has been Manchester United’s outstanding player scoring 16 in 28 games for the Red Devils. The midfielder signed a 4-and-a-half-year deal until the summer of 2024, with an option to extend by another year but the Red Devils want to tie him on a long term deal to ward off interest from other European teams.

The Sun reports that United have approached the 26-year old with a double your money £200,000-a-week five-year contract yet he wants to know of the club’s transfer policy before any assurances.

The midfielder wants to see the Red Devils fight for a Champions League place and contend strongly with a competitive squad, a decision he sees fit to express his talent across Europe and the rest of the world.

Bruno is one of the lowest-paid players of the regular first-team stars, having signed a £100,000-a-week 5½-year deal, which has the option of a further 12 months.
