Fire has ravaged the home of 15 inhabitants on Sunday midnight at Kunka, in the Obuasi Municipal of Ashanti Region.

Madam Akosua Tiwaah, wife to the landlord suspects the fire was caused by recent intermittent power cuts popularly known as Dumsor.

Speaking to Soireenews' Kofi Wusu Brempong, Mrs Tiwaah said "It was around 12am when I heard noise from my kids room,I woke up and run there only to see blazing fire coming out from there".

She detailed that even though no one was hurt, not even a pin could be picked from the house.

Madam Tiwaa explained that she is confident the fire came from the room of a tenant who travelled "five days ago" and might have left some of his electrical gadgets on which caught fire due to the power cuts.

"I can't say for a fact what caused the fire, but I think one of our tenants who has travelled left some of his electrical gadgets on, and due to the intermittent power cuts yesterday, it caught fire which has brought us this problem, We couldn't take anything, everything has been burnt to ashes," Mrs Tiwaah said.

Mr Emmanuel Owusu, the Landlord lamented the poor service the Obuasi branch of Electricity Company Of Ghana (ECG) has been providing raging fury among residents with several complaints from people around Kunka.

"I have complained severally about how bad our lighting system is to ECG, but nothing has been done about it, sometimes light goes off 20 times a day, I can't blame anyone but ECG, "Mr Owusu said.

The family is currently begging for alms to support themselves as everything they own has been taken away by the fire.

Investigations are currently underway to establish the cause of the fire.
